- What image would relate to the story and entice people to open the book?
- Would it be a scene from the narrative, a prop, character or something else?
- What could you write in the blurb to encourage someone to start reading?
- How can you give a flavour of the story without giving too much away?
Teaching tips:
It would be useful to show the children some example blurbs prior to completing the jacket template. Emphasise that a blurb is a much shorter version of the story that doesn't give too much away. Model writing a blurb for a well-known story.
