Continents jigsaw
Drag the pieces into the correct places. If you need a bit of extra help, use the lightbulb clue button.
Discussion points
- Which continent do we live in?
- Which is the largest continent?
- Which continents does the equator cross?
- Why do you think the shape and position of these continents has changed over time?
Teaching tips:
Use the activity settings to change the labelled information presented on completion of the jigsaw. Choose between continent labels only; a small amount of information on each continent or more detailed information.
Give children time to discuss the map in groups or with a partner before completing the jigsaw. Which shapes will fit where? Which ones are easier to place than others? Which do they already know?
After completing the jigsaw, pupils could have a go at labelling the continents and the oceans. There is also a ‘Continents - recall’ activity to tests children’s knowledge on the world’s continents.
