Fridge feast
Which grapheme is correct to complete the word that the monster says?
Drag one from the bottom of the fridge to the top. To hear the word again click on the monster. Where two words sound the same but are spelt differently (homophones) a thought bubble will appear to show you which one the monster means.
Use the 'Alternative grapheme settings' button to choose which graphemes to focus on. There are vowel and consonant grapheme-phoneme-correspondences to choose from.
If click-and-drop mouse behaviour is more desirable than dragging, under ‘Setup’s phonics settings’, turn the ‘sticky pointer’ on.
Teaching tips:
Children could try putting each word into a verbal or written sentence.
Use along with ‘Advanced sound bites’ or ‘Advanced letter box’ to support children to read and spell words with alternative graphemes.
