FREE Recycling Week Pack for Schools!
Recycling Week takes place annually and this year runs between 14th and 20th October.
What’s Recycling Week all about?
Recycling Week’s aim is to encourage people to recycle more items and to recycle more frequently.
Why is recycling so important?
Recycling is key to developing a cleaner and healthier planet for us and generations to come!
By recycling, we can make the most of the limited resources we have, reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill, reduce our energy consumption and the amount of pollution we create.
How is Busy Things supporting Recycling Week?
To help our primary schools understand what Recycling Week is all about and to help spread the positive message about recycling far and wide, we’ve created a free Recycling topical pack. The pack is completely free to download for schools which subscribe to Busy Things and those that don’t, and includes:
- A fact sheet about Recycling Week. This covers its general aim, and its theme and challenge for 2024
- A ‘Recycle an extra item a day’ tracker so your pupils can see how well they are doing with the challenge
- Recycling myths and truths, followed by a comprehension exercise
- Recycling sorting and matching activities, which consider the materials items are made of and the wonderful items that can be created from recycled materials
- A story about Benny the bottle and his second chance for comprehension and discussion
- A word search including all the key recycling terminology
We’re also delighted to share our Recycling poster writing template from now until the end of Recycling Week, so your class can share what they’ve learned and encourage other pupils and family members to recycle more too!
